I am a single mom of two teens. I am just living my life to the best of my abilities.

Not sure what to start with; so I will start with what takes up most of my time – teaching my kids. I am a certified teacher who is currently homeschooling her youngest child. I never thought in a million years that I would do homeschooling; yet here I am on year 3. Getting ready for year 4. Both my kids did homeschooling for 2 years. This passed year my son was in college and my daughter was on homeschool. She has one year left and then she will be attending college. Homeschooling may seem overwhelming and scary to some. Honestly, it was a little daunting to me at first too. But once I started it, it wasn’t all that hard. There are so many resources out there that can help. Plus I found a whole community of other parents that are always willing to help me on this journey. As nervous and stressed as I was to start this journey three years ago; I am so happy that I did. I have learned so many things along the way and have enjoyed the time it has given me to spend with my kids. It has given us freedom and flexibility in learning. What they learn, when they learn and how they learn. Which has been such a wonderful aspect of homeschooling. My kids are able to be themselves and enjoy learning again. They have choices in their learning. Choices they would not have had if they were in school. They are able to concentrate on 2-3 classes as a time as opposed to 7 or more. When they are not feeling good, they can work from their bed wearing pajamas. We are able to take a day off from learning to do fun things. Which has allowed us to enjoy and live happier. I also do online and in person tutoring. I work with an online tutoring platform and private in person sessions. I am able to schedule my sessions around my kids schedules. Which is a bonus for sure. It gives me flexibility and a little income. I love working with the kids and I enjoy when they get finally get the concept that we are working on. There is no better joy then seeing kids happy and confident once they master a skill that they have been struggling with. It is one of the best feelings in the world. I have enjoyed meeting kids from all over the country through tutoring. I love working with all the kids, getting to know them and their personalities. It has been such a pleasure and so fulfilling.
